On May 11, 2023, changes were implemented to improve usability, enhance accuracy of case entry, provide superior security and protect patient PHI in the Resident Surgical Log. Click here for the full release notes.
In an effort to eliminate PHI from the RSL, the following changes were made to cases entered prior to May 11, 2023.
1. Procedure Date: Changed to the first day of the month in which the procedure was performed.
Example: If the case was saved with a procedure date of 2/20/2023, after the 3.16.2 release, the procedure date is saved as 2/01/2023.
2. Patient’s first and last names: Eliminated. Use the MRN as reference between the RSL and hospital medical records
3. Patient Age: DOB was eliminated. Instead, the patient’s age now appears. The age was calculated using the procedure date and DOB.
Note: If age could not be calculated, it will appear as “Invalid Age”
4. Anesthesia: For “Procedure Log” cases, General/Deep Sedation and Moderate Sedation, recorded under the “Procedure” field, will be recorded under the new “Anesthesia” field.
Note: When viewing case summaries entered prior to this release via Report 109 or View Activities, the anesthesia administered will appear under both the Anesthesia field and the Procedure field, but will only count as a single anesthetic experience.
